Twice a week I decide the half finished costume in the corner can wait, and twice a week I lose to it around midnight. Gaming takes the hours, long sessions with people who call me the responsible one, which is funny to anybody who has seen the state of my kitchen. Cooking is the exception I do properly, for far more people than I own chairs for.

Clear nights I carry a blanket up and look for whatever is visible, which is not a great deal from here with the city doing what it does to the sky. Being fussed over embarrasses me, being useful does not, and I know perfectly well which of those I am. I settle around a person the moment they eat what I made without being polite about it, and tell me straight that it needed more salt.
