Half the outdoor shoots I take are an excuse to be somewhere with trees, and the fee is almost secondary. Modelling pays for the trips and the trips pay me back in a way the work never quite manages. Cold water is my weakness, any lake, any hour, in before I can talk myself out of it, and the shock of it resets whatever the day has done to me.

Home is loud though, kitchen dancing until the neighbour knocks, then a blanket and something I have seen twice already. Single, honest about looking, without being in any hurry about it. Everyone expects the outdoorsy one to be serious and I am really not, which seems to disappoint about half the room. Somewhere out there a settled version of me has a lease and a vegetable patch, and we keep missing each other by about a month.
