Two things I want at once, a term abroad and a kitchen where everybody already knows where the spoons live, and I flip between them roughly every fortnight. Lectures fill the days, and most of the reading gets done at hours I would not admit to my tutor. Cooking for other people is how I stop thinking, one big pan, nobody allowed to help until the chopping is over.

Late nights are where I do my actual talking, the kind that starts as nothing and ends up somewhere neither of us planned. Taken, comfortable, not going anywhere. Films at home are almost always rewatches, because I like knowing exactly what happens before it happens. The way you leave a conversation says more about you than the way you enter one, so how do you do yours.
