My friends have taken to telling me a time half an hour before the real one, and it works, and I have stopped pretending to be insulted. Dancing takes all the discipline I own, hours of it every week, and there is none left over for the rest of my life. Reserved for roughly the first quarter of an hour and then not reserved at all, which confuses anybody who made up their mind early.
Festivals are my favourite kind of exhausting and the sea afterwards is where I put myself back together. Looking, and saying so plainly, because pretending to be indifferent takes energy I would rather spend elsewhere. Tonight is nothing ambitious.
