Selling the work or keeping it is an argument I lose in both directions, and four canvases against the wall have been priced and unpriced twice already. Painting pays unevenly, so a coffee with somebody becomes the entire social budget for most of a week. That suits me honestly enough, two cups and no agenda whatsoever attached to either of them.

Undefined is the accurate word for one situation in my life, and no better one has ever turned up. Beach in the off season with a coat buttoned to the chin is my reset button. Films I have already seen are the only ones I can watch while thinking about something else entirely. What I remember about anyone years later is their hands, always, and whatever those hands were doing while they talked.
