Before I have said a word out loud, somebody has already landed on cocky, and I gave up arguing with that years ago. What actually runs my week is a shelf of figures arranged in an order I would defend in court, and an hour of calligraphy where one bad stroke sends the whole sheet to the bin. Travelling suits me because nothing has to be permanent, and because karaoke rooms sound the same in every country at two in the morning.

Opinions I hand out cheaply. Ask what I think of your jacket, your music, the place you want to eat, and you will get an answer you did not want. The rest of me is smaller than that and much harder to reach, and the few who have got there managed it by being patient rather than clever.
