Loud gloves and a louder mouth, that is the version of me that walks in first. Truthfully I count everything, rounds, breaths, the number of steps back to my corner, and the joking runs on top while the counting continues underneath it. Boxing rewards that kind of head, and my coach worked it out long before I did and stopped trying to make me serious. Karaoke does not reward it at all, and I go anyway, because being bad at something in public keeps me tolerable.

Long climbs on the bike are where the excess goes. Hills, headwind, whatever hurts enough to quiet the noise down for a few hours. The part I keep back is that I am careful with people in a way I would flatly deny if you asked me directly about it.
