Booking the next departure or finally unpacking properly, that argument runs in my head most weeks and the suitcase usually wins. Travel is the shape of my life rather than a hobby, which means good coffee everywhere and a home that looks unlived in. Kendo is what I keep going back for, since a training hall in a strange city still smells the same as the last one.

Costumes take months and I make them on hotel floors with the wrong scissors. Clear skies are the reason I choose certain places at all, and I have stood in the cold longer than was sensible for one particular constellation. A silence from someone else does not send me hunting for words to plug it. Quiet is information, and I would rather read it properly than talk over the top of it.
