Barefoot on a studio floor covered in newspaper, with red paint on my wrist that has been there two days now and is going nowhere. Painting pays me in bursts, four days of nothing at all and then eleven hours without eating or sitting down. Sea days are the reset, and I come home with sand in everything I own and better ideas than I left with.
