Camera up or camera down is the argument, because the frame is always there and so is the moment I miss taking it. Shooting is how I pay for everything and also how I avoid being properly in the room. Salt water sorts that out, an hour in the sea and I stop composing the horizon in my head.

Festivals are the good work, three days of no sleep and a card full of strangers looking honest. Taken, happily, and I say so before anybody has to guess. Being asked to stand in front of a lens makes me miserable, which my friends consider hilarious. My friends make me learn their dances and film the results, which is a fair price for their patience. Given one question only, mine would be this, what do you keep photographing without ever meaning to?
