Took the longer trail today when the short one was right there, and got home two hours later than planned with mud to the knee. Modelling is strange work for somebody who dislikes being looked at, and I have never fully squared those two things. On set I go very quiet and people mistake it for confidence, which is a useful accident.

Baking is where I am unhurried and completely myself, weighing flour properly, letting things rest as long as they need. A small collection lives on the windowsill and each one arrived on a day worth remembering. Being on my own suits me more than it probably should. If you only had one thing to ask me, I hope it would be the thing you have been too polite to ask anybody else.
