Found a hairline crack running up the wall behind the ladder rack this morning and mentioned it to no one, because I want to be the one who fixes it. The station feels more like home than a job ever should, and the shifts have wrecked any hope I had of a normal week. Kendo on rest days, and yoga on the days when my shoulders file a formal complaint about it.

The camera comes everywhere with me, in the bag along with everything else. Mostly it photographs equipment, which the crew finds hilarious and I have long stopped defending. Where I will not bend is gear going back exactly where it lives. That sounds petty right up until the night the lights are gone and your hand reaches the shelf without looking.
