Flat voice, straight posture, and people fill in the rest with something colder than the truth. Service runs on order and I happen to like order, which is not remotely the same as feeling nothing. Long rides on the bike are where thinking gets done, four hours out and the final hour with no thoughts left at all.

Painting comes after, usually at a table far too small for it, and nobody has seen the results. Single, and the question does not come up often. Yoga is the one thing I do purely because it feels good, which took me a while to allow. When nobody is watching I am ridiculous, singing to the kettle, dancing one step in the corridor, apologising to furniture I walk into. That version is real too, it simply has poor timing.
