Yayoi, in her own words
When a result finally lands, four days of nothing turn into a number that changes the whole question, and I hate those four days and would not trade the hour that follows. The lab is quiet in the way libraries are quiet, and I am the reason it occasionally is not.
Reading at home is indiscriminate, physics one night and something with a dragon on the cover the next. Singing happens in the corridor when I think the building is empty, and twice it has not been. My hair takes longer than the experiments do some mornings. Dancing badly around the kitchen counts as exercise if nobody is measuring, and nobody is. Nothing is tying me down at present and I quite like the freedom of that. Tonight the plan is noodles, one chapter, and probably three more chapters than I intended.
