Washed the brushes badly again and there is purple in the sink that will still be there on Thursday. Painting takes the mornings, and the afternoons go to staring at what I painted and deciding it is wrong. Ink under the nails is permanent at this point and I stopped scrubbing at it long ago.

Something unfinished is still running underneath all of this, and I have no clean way to describe it. Yoga on the balcony most days, films at night, the beach whenever there is an excuse. Teasing is my default setting and it has got me into trouble more than once. What I will not compromise on is doing things slowly. Fast work looks like fast work, in a painting and in everything else, and I would rather be late than obvious.
