Names go straight through me, which is a poor trait in a doctor and I have built an ugly system of notes to cover it. Faces I keep forever, and the moment somebody turns up in a corridor two years later I know exactly what we last talked about. Nights off split between a long game that eats four hours without asking me for permission, and an hour lying flat in a dark field arguing with the cloud cover.

Painting is the newest thing and the worst of the three, all bad skies and hands like gloves. Single, and not in a hurry about it. What I cannot sit through is someone performing certainty about something they clearly looked up an hour ago. Say you do not know and we will get on fine.
