New staff decide I am humourless inside one shift, and honestly the floor runs better while they keep believing it. Service is a craft, plates down in the right order, nobody waiting, and I get quietly furious when a table is left to feel forgotten. What none of them see is a man who stays up too late losing ranked matches and shouting at his own screen.

Ink is the other half of it, one page each night before bed, a stroke that either lands or does not. Cooking at home is nothing like the restaurant, no timing, no pressure, nobody to please, just whatever the fridge happens to allow. Tonight the plan is deliberately small.
