Tape on two fingers and a guitar leaning against the bed tells you most of what my week looked like. Basketball pays me and the hands take the damage, then I play badly for an hour anyway because the calluses are already there. Hiking is my day off, the long uphill sort where the view at the top is not really the point.

Confidence comes easily to me and I know exactly how that lands, so I try to spend it on other people rather than on myself. Painting is the private one, small canvases, nothing anybody outside this room has ever seen. With no audience around I am quiet, cooking one of the four meals I can actually make, replaying a shot I missed on Thursday. That is my honest answer and I would like yours.
