Guitar is leaning against the desk where the chair should be, which tells you everything about how this room is organised. Streaming is louder work than people assume, six hours of talking to a room that talks back and never quite in the order you expect. Yoga in the morning is the only reason my shoulders survive the chair at all.

Karaoke with anyone who asks, at any hour, and I am cheerfully terrible at all of it. Living alone suits me, hair tied back, one lamp on, and nobody at all minding the state of the place. On my own, easygoing about it, in no hurry whatsoever. Late on I put the guitar down halfway through a phrase and sit there thinking about how easily I could keep going, how nothing here would stop me.
