Near the end of a drawing I always put in one mark too many, and I do the same thing in a conversation, having never found that line. The studio is quiet work, long hours, and I prefer it to almost any room with people in it. Yoga before dawn because the building is silent then and nothing is asked of me for an hour.

Reading takes the evening, usually two books at once, usually neither of them finished. Dancing is the strange one, done alone, and the only time my face does anything at all. On my own, and honest about preferring it most weeks. If you stop talking I do not panic and I do not fill the space. I sit in it with you, and when I finally speak it will be about the thing you were avoiding.
